2021 Subaru Share the Love Event

Carson City Senior Center joins Meals on Wheels America and Subaru of America, Inc. in Sharing the Love this Holiday Season
The 14th annual Subaru Share the Love® Event will help deliver nutritious meals and compassion to Carson City’s seniors
Carson City, Nevada (November 18, 2021) – Carson City Senior Center and Meals on Wheels Carson City is proud to announce that it will be participating in the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event as a member of Meals on Wheels America – one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the campaign. From November 18, 2021, through January 3, 2022, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities.
Participating Meals on Wheels America members, like Meals on Wheels Carson City, will receive a share of the donation raised by Subaru in their state. “With the support from last year’s campaign, we were able to deliver an additional 3,705 meals,” said Courtney Warner, Director of the Carson City Senior Center who operates Meals on Wheels. “We are beyond grateful for Subaru of America’s support and commitment to feed Carson City’s homebound seniors.”
Last year, Meals on Wheels Carson City delivered over 106,000 meals while only receiving federal grant funding for 90,000 meals. “Every dollar raised for Meals on Wheels goes directly into the program to meet the rising demand. No senior should worry about where their next meal comes from and with fantastic partnerships with organizations like Subaru of America, we can continue to feed more seniors at risk of going hungry,” said Warner.
“Meals on Wheels America is proud to partner with Subaru of America for the 14th consecutive year to enable more seniors to live with independence and dignity,” said Ellie Hollander, President and CEO, Meals on Wheels America. “Since 2008, the Subaru Share the Love Event has helped deliver more than 2.5 million meals and friendly visits to vulnerable seniors nationwide. We’re enormously grateful to Subaru and its retailers for their long-standing commitment to Meals on Wheels and the millions of seniors who depend on it for nourishment and companionship.”
Over the last 13 years, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $200 million to its charity partners. This year’s Subaru Share the Love Event is on track to bring that total to over $225 million, proving there’s no limit to the amount of love we can all share.
“The Subaru Share the Love Event is the most important time of the year for us, as it gives our Subaru family of employees, retailers and owners a moment to come together to reflect on what matters most – helping those in need,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO of Subaru of America, Inc. “Giving back is at the very heart of Subaru – it’s what makes us More Than a Car Company. In 2021, we’re excited to give back to the causes close to our community’s hearts and make a lasting positive impact.”
