Carson City Senior Center serves as a location for the AARP Smart Driver Course. This course, which is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older, is one of many programs offered by AARP Driver Safety. It is the nation's largest classroom and online driver safety course. Since Nevada is a mandated state another benefit of the class is that attendees will receive a discount on the auto insurance policy cost for 3 years.
To register for this class, call the Carson City Senior Center reception desk at 883-0703.
In-person class fee: the course costs $20 for AARP members and $25 for non members. Fee is payable by cash or check (made out to AARP) on the day of the class. No credit/debit cards will be accepted.
AARP is also offering online classes at aarpdriversafety.org. You get the same information and the same certification to help you save on auto insurance. All from the convenience of your home!
